creating stuff for dota2 question

if i create something like, a weapon for DK would I be able to use it in game?

yes and no. When you create an item you have the opportunity to test it in game without bots or any other players (so far as I know) prior to submission. I am not aware of a way that would allow you to use it in real matches.

I could be wrong since I have only been doing things for dota for a little while.

Well, if it gets accepted to the game, you'll be able to use it of course.

Naturally if it gets accepted you can use it all you want :P

but I think he was interested in the potential to use it before then. I think in TF2 you could mess with the game so that you could reskin items without actually changing them for anyone else. Is that possible with dota 2?

Yes. But you'll basically have to replace the default model with yours. To do that, you have to unpack the game files, do the switcheroo, then boot up the game. BUT every time the game updates, you'll have to redo it. Sooo doable: yes - practical: no.

Ok so right know it is a lot of work so I will create some items and wait and see if Valve likes them. Thank you to all The responces
