So, kinda got fried with 3DS max, since whenever I cut the polygons, a billion vertices get created, and the unused faces mean that I can't complete 1/3 of the weapon, in the TIGHT polylimit of DotA. I DL'ed a trial of Modo, was wondering if there are any LONG, DETAILED guides, mainly focusing on the box modeling, UV, and a little bit of the other things in Modo? I would really love that.. I tried Youtubing, but didn't really find anything..

Luxology has a video section with a ton of videos about most of Modo's features. Some are older but still valid. Modo also has an inline help system that can be found in the help menu which can get you up to speed on the tools and other features.

I wasnt alone in this assessment, as you can see this happening on the modo forums and with users of other commercial applications showing up on the Blender forums.
Valve recently tossed their hat in with Blender as well, officially suggesting a type of partnership in which to combine the Steamworkshop and Blender as a mod and asset creation tool. Its now even possible to fund the Blender Foundation through the Valve workshop where Valve will donate a certain amount of revenue made to the development of the application.
I highly recommend putting Blender on your radar as well, wont cost you anything. Modo is a great application, but its not for everyone.
That's a simple doc that lists some important/useful scripts for modo, along with some misc tips when using modo for game art.
This is another good youtube channel with some interesting modeling techniques: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ2NYo3MqqKi96TqQyl5_jQ
The thing I like about Max is, I feel totally in control. Like, when doing the Extrude, there's that tiny button to the side that gives me options, and I don't have to dig around for them. Also, that global menu search thing, with X, is really cool.
Hmm. Anyone eve had this problem with 3DS Max, when slicing planes, it creates a lot of vertices on the face's edges. Like, I was doing a custom inset, and it created lots of vertices + faces on the edge that I was slicing.
Mostly its a combination of few people's video, like a library, very useful.
