Hi all,

I am about to start my final year at University studying Graphics for Games and for my final year project I have decided to create a demo level of a side scrolling platform game. The premise of the game is that you play a teddy bear attempting to rescue your owner from their nightmares.

I'm basing it upon Jeftoon01's Sleep Tight teaser image.

I figured that if I started a thread for it then it would help me to make sure I'm actually getting my work done instead of messing around building ramps in UDK constantly.

This is what I have for the main character so far. Learnt a whole bunch about edge loops during this process and even picked up a few new tools to add to my arsenal of regularly used stuff in Maya

Done with Patch for the time being. The actual focus of the project will be more on the environment than the character. However I want to show a wide range of skills so I will eventually be sculpting this and possibly playing around with nDo and dDO.

Baked a super quick and sketchy AO map and threw it over the top of the base colours in Photoshop. Pretty happy with the results, will give me a decent enough model to throw into the level and play around with until I make the proper character model later on. :)

    Also Sketchfab because why not?

The tail looks more appropriate to a bunny than a bear. Stretching it a bit and changing the color to match the primary fur color (brown) rather than white would help.
Teddy_bear_Pathed.svgDon't forget about the central seam and his eponymous patch on his cheek.

His expression can use some work to make him more determined and less evil.
