[WIP - PROP] Ceiling-Mounted Turret

Hi,
This is a prefab I'm currently working on, and it's my first serious attempt at sub-d modelling and was hoping I could get some crits & comments from you talented folks.

This is a ceiling-mounted turret for a sci-fi project. Any crits are welcome, I just want to make sure this thing turns out well.

The edges are way too sharp right now and wont bake nice into the map.

Also the round shape in your turret is ruined by the sharp rectangular bevels which ruins the round shape. I've pointed out where in the picture below. What I would do is model that piece separately on a flat plane, do the bevels and then calculate how much extra geometry you need and bend the shape using 2 bend modifiers. I made this quickly, though it may not be an exact replica of the shape it shows that its do-able to keep the round shape with rectangular bevels.
