The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School at Universal Studios Orlando (The DAVE School) is looking for a Gaming Dean for its new Gaming Program.
The Gaming Dean (GD) will be responsible for ensuring the success and monitoring of the Gaming Program, focusing on student success, and oversees other faculty that makes up the program. The GD works with the gaming instructors and teaching assistants to ensure that what students need to know is being made available. Under the guidance of the Academic Director, the GD will also work to ensure the mission and vision statements of the school are being properly adhered to by instructors and other faculty. This often includes ensuring that academic standards are being met, that professionalism and integrity policies are given to students and staff, and seeing to the satisfaction of state or national accreditation requirements.
Working with the Academic Director, the Gaming Dean will assess, develop, and implement program additions and practices that address the gaming programs critical needs. In this role, the Program Director will take responsibility for most of the day-to-day operations of the gaming program.
The Gaming Dean will need to be a well-rounded training professional with understanding of the gaming production pipeline and a high-impact, collaborative person.
Qualifications/Competencies:
At least 5 years experience working in the gaming market.
3 years experience supervising employees , Proven effectiveness at group/team leadership and project management
Demonstrate experience in using technology in an educational setting
Proven ability to motivate and organize groups
Strong communication skills with proficiency in developing written communications and the development and delivery of oral presentations
Ability to research and apply new learning and delivery methods
Experience in program development
Ability to support, guide and generally work with Instructors and Teaching Assistants
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of gaming community, organizations and initiatives
Willing to travel to conferences and local events, as needed.
Ability to work in a close team environment with others
