How exactly do they work? I mean, do you have to differentiate a bit from what the hero had equipped in DotA 1 to avoid infringing on copyrights or what? I was thinking it will infringe, but "borrowing" would work.
The only such set I'm familiar with was the Bloodseeker Legacy set which was marked as uncompatible by Valve, probably due to the copyright conflict so take from that what you will...

I think this one was scrapped because it changed the color scheme drastically rather than because it was ripping off blizzard. But yeah, it also ripped it off almost 1:1
On the other hand, there's an original Sven's sword replica in the game, so it's probably not such a big deal.
Ahh, so I guess I will have to do something different, after all. Kinda thought so, I didn't want to get sued if I end up doing a set "inspired" by the look of the hero in DotA 1, which takes the hero looks from WC3, since.... It IS WC3.
CrucifiX, you can get inspired by the dota 1 hero. But you need to make some changes, not drastic changes, but just some, so it isn't the excact same with updated textures
