Hey. so, really late start i know, but couldnt pass up a chance to play around with diablo, favorite game ever.
Think back on diablo 2 when you finish act 3 and the cut scene of tal rasha, Mephisto and the wanderer. This is my favorite image of diablo ripping himself out of the wanderer's body.
I was going to try the pillar which they stand around however all the alphas would be too much of a head ache for me.
Started this Monday the 5th. this is how far i am so far.
Got a 492 tri diablo done with texture

This will remove the pixel filtering that makes low res textures look blurry and causes artifacts by interpolation among UV edges. Your textures and presentation will look a lot better.
The bridge doesn't tile very well, try using the photoshop filter offset on the texture by half it's resolution and paint the edge together so it tiles seamlessly.
For the gate remember to turn off bilinear filtering; you may also want to use extra polygons to create some flames that give it depth.

finally got the materials working. had to have pngs connected in maya not tga DOI!
so yeah, plenty of work that could be done onn it, just not enough time. thanks to everyone who had a look.
