Ok so I'm having a weird issue with Skin in 3ds Max. I have to create a character rig for the UT3 Ironguard for an assignment. However I've hit a snag when trying to skin.
When I add bones to the mesh, they are weighted at 100% to every vertex in the mesh. Weights cannot be modified using the weight table weight paints or any of the other tools. I have been through the advanced parameters roll out and can't see anything that might cause this. I am assuming it is something to do with the mesh itself, or perhaps the bones?
In any case I would be very grateful for any ideas.
