I have never created a beard for a character. I'm currently working on a character that will need one. I was wondering if anyone had some tip or tricks to consider before I get there.
I'm planning on making a small separate texture map for all transparent items, here I will have a series of hair clusters I like that I can duplicate around to achieve the effect I need. I am also planning on projecting the beard texture onto the face geometry for some extra depth.

I wanted to ask if there were any considerations I should take into account in regards to facial deformation while spamming these cards around. I've spent the time to make sure the topology in the face works/looks right. Now I've got these cards everywhere, and its a little chaotic. Just checking ahead of time so I might save myself from learning the hard way. Thanks.
