A shameful crosspost, but I actually accidentally posted it first at ZBC, not thinking it was more appropriate here considering it's game art.
So...
I just wanted to post a wip of a character for a portfolio piece.
It's supposed to resemble Wesley Snipes from the Movie "Demolition Man".
I need some critiques as I'm not satisfied with the face and I've been tweaking it hard forth and back forever now...
I wondered if any of you could give me some advice on how to align the camera to the photo references aswell. Are there any tricks?
I've just been eyeballing the perspective and modified the mesh, but it hasn't given me expected results so I'm unsure of how close of a fit it really is. It doesnt't need to be 100% perfect, but atleast close enough so you'll resemble him easily.
As I was searching for reference images I found this life cast.

It's funny, I can't even tell it's Wesley Snipes. So this is really what I should be sculpting, but at the same time it's hard from only this image. It's also strange to watch these casts cause this is not the way a head looks like in my mind.
So here's my wip as of now.
And here's some of the reference images I've been using.

Thanks for watching.
PS. I think his underarms are too long, will fix that later
Also, though I'm aming towards realism, I take certain liberties as it's not 100% accurate to the reference photos(the clothing has minor tweaks to the proportions), but a tad stylised, only cause I think the shapes look more interesting.

Would appreciate very much if someone commented =(
Detail pass under way.
I added stitches, but then reworked the pants and boots. Guess I have to modify the stitches now....pffft.....
Or do you prefer the older one?
before/after.

Oh, and thanks for looking! :poly121:
now make him a phonebooth and let me animate him talking smack to it!
at first I prefered the folds you had in the pants before changing them to what you said looked closer to the the original.. whatever I thought, but your third itteration looks cool! don't fuck them up now!
Ok, I will
Yeah, the silhouette looks better this way. SO late update. modified the stitches and that's about it.
Next up is the shirt.
I will probably rig him up eventually.
Thanks again!
On to the hands.
