Hai guys. Currently working on a Thor Girl model, heavily inspired by the Thor armour in the Avengers movie. Sculpt is still WIP but C&C appreciated as always.
@Peanut Thanks man! You can thank the guys at Marvel film studios for the kick ass design :P about 80% of it is straight from the movies (and from a photomanipulation mockup of what a female Thor would look like in the movies). Bit of an exercise in working from other peoples concepts/ideas. I do love making my own characters though so that's next on the list!
@garriola83 Thanks man! I love your female ranger piece, it's looking great!
@joker_47 Yup, I'll be doing it all (low poly, texturing, rigging etc) Might take a while as I'm quite busy with this new game I've been playing called Real Life - the graphics suck but its a huge time sink!
Not had as much time as I'd like to work on this, but I think I'm finished the sculpt, bar a little wear and tear in places. Onto the retopo fairly soon unless there's any C&C to consider! I think I'll polish up the cloak a little.
She needs hair! and... a beard. No, i'm joking, pretty good job with that model i love the details you put on her, i'd love to see her with color and her mjolnir!

=! Yes i also think she need more hair, nice longhair
Can we see a close up of her face?
I would reconsider the nipple armour.
Agreed.
And I think she would luck more better, with a more interesting silhouette if she had hair and the cloak was maybe over one shoulder rather then two - but maybe thats personal preference
Thanks for the feedback guys! I haven't been able to work on her for a while, as I've been very busy with work and other stuff. I've blocked in the hair, (going for a kind of She Ra hairstyle) which I'm going to be using planes to generate, with the exception of the hair braids which I'll bake down onto planes.
@Fomori I've attached a head shot. I could actually use a bit of help here - I'm not great with female faces, tend to have a lot of trouble scultping them. The rear cranial mass, neck and ear need a bit of love, but I'd like some C&C if anyone has any. I may well take out the nipple plates - A few other guys have pointed this out. Does it look silly?
I'm no expert, but I think the face just needs more work. Maybe try softening it and not having such hard edges. A few areas that look immediately wrong to me is that the nose comes out too far (it's too pointy), the middle of the upper lip (Upper Vermillon?) is bulging. It comes out and down too far. Also the Antihelix of the ear is protruding outwards too much as well (It looks like an MMA fighters ears and not a females).
Yeah I would definitely get rid of the nipple plates as they make her boobs look too much like she's naked. It's just a way too blatant and suggestive design choice. Keep at it!
@Fomori - Thanks for the tips man, I decided to spend a good bit more time on the face and I'm fairly happy with the end result. I did however decided to keep the discs on her breasts in so that the design is still reminiscent of the "six disc" design of Thor.
@MDGM - I may do this, though not over the whole leg, I'm gonna play about with it a little bit.
In any case, here's a shot of the low poly with block out textures
This is awesome! Are you gonna make a hammer or anything to go with it? You should maybe try adding more definition to her legs, see how that looks? Although most comic superheroes skip leg day it seems. Just a thought.
@Fomori - Thanks man - yeah the hands will hopefully look a little better when they're posed. The hair is only diffuse and spec, I didn't use a normal map for it.
@Pookhan Yo man! I'm not doing too bad Yup, I'm gonna make Mjolnir once I'm finished texturing her! I've tried adding a little wear to the legs, and some slashing cuts, I'm not quite sure what to do concerning the legs really. They certainly look better but I'm not sure if it's in the right direction.
Updated the eyes so they look a tad less crazy, eyelashes, and all the textures!
Looking good man, I would say that the metal around the abdomen and as the trim for the hanging cloth is a little misplaced, it wouldn't flex at all. Maybe a replacement of material? Like a tough leather or something to contrast the cloth.
Matt - I think I talked to you in person about that one, but I decided to keep the metal texture purely because I didn't want to break up the materials too much and I felt it was more visually appealing.
Locater16 - Thanks for the crits dude, but I respectfully disagree on your points.
Trancerobot - Thanks man
Taken a few more shots, getting close to finishing now. Going to sort out a beauty shot soon, but here's a bunch of t pose renders. Lighting is not my strong point and it's something I need to improve on. Any thoughts?
Bit of a late reply here, but I'm going to try and re render this in Toolbag 2 ASAP. Busy time of year but hopefully I should be able to sink some time into it tomorrow. I had a quick go last week, but that's it really. In the meantime, here's a Toolbag 1 render with a closeup!

I would like to see the low poly wires too.
I assume you have low poly eyelids. She has crazy eyes atm.
Good work here!
Does the hair have a normal map or just diffuse/spec?
Colours are looking nice as well.
Only issue I have is the hands look really thin and flat. You might be able to fix that with the rigging and pose you do with her hands.
Looking good otherwise can't wait to see more of her.

Looks really nice though.

B. Chest is a bit... oversize? Cuts into looking too cartoony with a pair of Double E's there.
The overall look is nice, but there's such a thing as too much.
Sorry I have no crits, this is just too amazing.
