Bust Critique

Hey guys,

I don't want to influence anyone's perception, so I'll be quiet - not sure if that's conducive to a critique. I do need fresh eyes, though, because I see different people at the moment. Can you identify him, does anything look odd, is anything missing that makes him, him? I'll mention who it is when I wake up later today.

Tom Hanks! I think the eyes appear to be a different size, but that's my only gripe.

I don't know why, but he does look a bit cartoonish to me.

Well, im glad you two recognized him. I'll revisit the eyes, the expression i saw in one of his photos had a brow raised, maybe i executed it poorly.

I do wan't to avoid cartoony for this. If anyone has pointers or observations that could help, I'm all ears.

Made a few changes. Polished up the blobbiness, fixed his cheek profile, changed the shape of his head slightly, tweaked his brow, and made his eyes a little more the same size/smaller to try and break some of the cartoon look it had.

It's Tom Hanks and again, any c&c would be greatly greatly appreciated.

I don't have the knowledge to critique Tom Hanks lol. But I think the default red wax matcap might be influencing his cartoon character so maybe experiment with presentation!
