Okay so I'm making this Skyland , and i have a problem.
Basically the polygons are annoying in way , it's hard to assign smoothing groups to them.
What would be the best way to apply SG to this type of poly structure ?
I tried like 6 hours doing that, but the selection part is so hard that im tired already and wanna give up :poly127:

Retopologizing would probably be your better option so your edges can follow the general forms you have. You don't need to spend much time on it though, zbrush qremesher or 3D Coats auto topo would more then sufficient.
What is the final result you want though? I feel like breaking this down into smaller pieces might be a better idea. What is the size of that island and is that a tree suppose to be growing out of it?
The island is about 5x5x5 Kilometers in size.
There are not trees in that pic yet.

EDIT: I found the solution. The seams were the problem
how should i fix this ?
