Has Deco brush changed in zbrush 4r6?

I use deco brush a lot in zbrush, find it really useful for hair strokes, extra detail etc. However using it on r6 it seems to have changed. here are images from r5 and r6 using the exact same settings and same alpha but the results are clearly different. I checked the brush and stroke settings both exactly the same.

alhpa is off, couldnt find that modifier subpalette in your pictures

I forgot to add this is the deco 2.5D brush when using projection master

Did anyone find out what the heck is wrong with deco brush (projection master) in R6?? Works like crap as kunglaos images show. Thoughts? Solutions?
