VG REMIX - Skies of Arcadia (Legends)

This contest seemed like a good way to pay tribute to my favorite game Skies of Arcadia (Skies of Arcadia Legends on the Gamecube) I want to do something that encompasses the adventure you go on, so here is my theme:



Every continent will be the outer edge of a hexagon, I figured it would work well with Sketchfab.



Quick thumbnails of what I want to do with each continent, I'm going to include major citys and landmarks and have the Gigas in the area with the corresponding colored moon overhead.



I also plan on making the two main ships you fly in, the Little Jack and the Delphinus. If I have time I'm going to try and do a ship from each continent (if it has one) and some smaller floating islands like Pirate's Isle, Sailor's Isle and Crescent Isle, possibly some other landmarks as well, and maybe the main characters.

Thanks for the support you guys! Here is my progress so far, all 6 of the Gigas are modeled and unwrapped and the Delphinus is only modeled right now. The Little Jack is the only one I have textured so far, it took me a bit longer than I thought, but it was a lot of fun

Yay, you updated! For some reason the Little Jack texture doesn't load when I go into 3D view. From what I can see though you did a badass job on it!

The Delphinus and the Gigas are coming along nicely as well. Keep it come'n!

That ship is looking awesome! Skies of Arcadia was one of my favorite dreamcast games. I'm glad someone is doing it justice!

Thanks for all of the support you guys, it's really appreciated. All of the Gigas are textured, they might need some touch ups down the line so I'll gladly take critiques on them. All of them have their own 128x128 texture

I never listed their names since before I started this project I could never remember their names either and it's a bit easier to refer to them collectively but here is a list:

Red Tiki? Gigas - Recumen
Green Giant Gigas - Grendel
Blue Bird Gigas - Bluheim
Purple Whale Gigas - Plergoth (also known as Rhaknam)
Yellow Scorpion? Gigas - Yeligar
Silver Clawed/Eyeball Gigas - Zelos

I had some things to do over the weekend, so I haven't gotten around to the continents yet. They are going to be started tomorrow, gotta keep on moving!

Blockout for the diorama is done, some things might be tightened up more. Un-posed Gigas are in as placeholders to see if I like where they are, no ships are in yet. C&C are always welcome.

Alemja, looks awesome as usual! Just two small things I would recommend. SPOILER ALERT: I have little to no knowledge of the game so please forgive my not knowing the names of things

I would recommend rotating the boss character a bit out to his right side such that when you rotate around the piece as a whole he is more front visible. At the moment it feels a little odd that I see most of his back/side during the turn. This could be personal preference but just my gut feeling.

Second, I would suggest lowering the lower sky just a bit as the mini city under the island with the whale above is difficult to see sometimes due to the camera.

The opacity for the cloud layers has been acting insanely glitchy, and wasn't always applying the 1-bit alpha, just the opacity setting. I think I may have fixed it, but if it doesn't work just let me know.
