3ds Max > Zbrush ///Smoothing Groups

Hey guys,

wanted to know if I was doing something wrong or anything, but I can't seem to get my smoothing groups in zBrush. Since there is no more smooth group import plugin. I heard you had to use GoZ from 3ds max to zBrush then use Crease. But I can't get any result. /

not possible AFAIK. .OBJ doesnt store smoothing groups and .OBJ is your only option for importing

Anyone else knows how importing smoothing groups into the new versions of zBrush works?

It worked before with the plugin by auto-creasing the group, cause zBrush doesn't litterally imports smoothing groups. But since there is no more plugin for it I just wanted to know how one proceeds.

What I do is asign material ID's instead of smoothing groups then use GoZ. This imports the material ID's as Polygroups. Then you can hit "Crease PG" to crease the polygroup boarders. Pain in the ass but easiest way I have found.
