I'm practicing some videogame modeling, hence I'm making a High poly model, then low poly and then all the other steps.
Right now I have a doubt on how to make a low poly out my high poly.
Here's the specific high poly part:
And my doubt is: Which is the best approach to make my low poly out this? I've read many tutorials, and many of them say respect the siloutthe of the High Poly.
I've made 2 quick lp models, which of them would be the best approach?
The first one is closer to the High Poly model, but at cost of more tris.
The second one is how I feel it's supposed to be, but I feel the bake would look odd, considering it's just flat.

And as well, regarding your concept, how does the bullet get to the barrel of the gun if there's a straight line from the barrel all the way to the pistol grip?
And I was thinking more as a FPS gun, just to make more details, I'm working this model to add it to my portfolio.
Consider how, where, and when specific art assets will be seen, which will determine how much fidelity the asset should and would receive.
