Hey guys,

i've never considered myself squeemish or anything, i can look at just about anything and not be phased.

but i have kids, and a 27" monitor, i want to know that when i search for things, for the most part it's all okay.

i usually have safe search turned off, searching for anatomical reference is easier this way, and my kids have a very healthy attitude toward nudity in art as well as the human body in general.

but recently, i've been getting some pretty brutal results, and i was wondering if there's any way to refine the search filter a little bit... like for example i searched for "head planes", and a few images of dismembered bodies with heads nearby came up, pretty graphic stuff... things that i don't want my kids seeing at the moment.

so yeah, is there any way to refine that kind of search filter? cheers.

turn the filter on,
if you need nudity just type : nude in the beginning part of your search.

I was just playing around in the search settings and I didn't see anything like that. Also googled it and didn't see anything about it, so It doesn't look like it. Maybe someone else knows more about it on here.

They redesigned the safe search a little while back and it's be considerably worse since. It filters out the majority of sexually explicit material (or, you know, useful figure reference) no matter what the search is set to, while violent or gorey content doesn't seem to be filtered at all any more.

Bing is generally a better option when it comes to image searching these days.

I heard that they changed the search so that you won't get pornographic results unless you type in specific terms.

Close the door? lol. You can add "-words" to the search aswell.

haha, to be clear i'm not looking for porn, and if i was i wouldn't use google haha!
