This quarter I'm taking a class on advanced figure sculpture in Zbrush.
For the first half of the quarter, we are doing master copies of classical renaissance and baroque figurative sculptures.
I chose Hades and Persephone by Gian Lorenzo Bernini:
As part of our first week's milestone, we did a series of deconstruction studies to familiarize ourselves with the subject.
I'll continue posting progress shots and milestones as I progress through the project.
As always, I appreciate any input, critique, advice etc.

Still tweaking here and there, but here is the pose with the base meshes plus some anatomy landmarking.
@jonincgi: Thank you. My next step will be adjusting the pose to correct those and a few other issues. Your feedback is right in line with the group critique feedback I got in class so I'd say you are quite correct in your observations
Update: Revisited the posing, especially on Persephone. Developed anatomy and facial features more. Blocked in hair, accessories and drapery
Looks pretty awesome so far. More :P
Still needs final detail pass and more work on Cerberus, but I'm pleased with how it is coming along overall.
@Pyrzern: I think you are right about the Hades' reaching pose. Posing all the elements of this sculpture is extremely challenging! Even after redoing the posing several times, there are some bits like that that are off. Thank you very much and I'll be posting more as the project nears completion
@Suba: Thank you!
