Last week our team decided to completely change graphic style of our game. And here comes problem, how should I texture my model to make it look like those from XCOM?

I know it's a completely different style, but Valve had some very useful style guides for their Dota2 workshop community.

The points they mention in their styleguide are applicable to characters as well as props, weapons, etc.

For about 6 months we have been making stuff in this style but then we understood that we won't be able to create realistic looking game in Unity. So this is why we are migrating to a different, more approachable style.
