Hey, what trade journals and such do you guys read to learn more about art and tech? I'm finding myself doing a lot more hands-on work these days, and I want to make sure I stay sharp and keep up with the latest tech and what everyone else is doing.

A couple I found this morning are www.fxguide.com (which has an awesome technical analysis of Ass Creed 3's water tech here: http://www.fxguide.com/featured/assassins-creed-iii-the-tech-behind-or-beneath-the-action/) and http://www.itsartmag.com/, both of which have a LOT of cool Making-Of features for games and film.

Thanks in advance!

I only read Cinefex. I figure the latest technology for film will filter into games.

FXGuide's good. I like their podcasts.

For tech news, I rely more on twitter for the latest. Follow a handful of techcentric accounts and your Discover screen will just load the latest trends and reveal more users or news leads. And if you want further reading, just go to the full article or email the link to yourself for desktop reading later.

I also save search tags that I'm interested in. Like #3dprinter, #toydesigner.

It's probably not user friendly if your primary account deals directly with hundreds of your own followers (like for business). But a second, "don't-follow-this" account can make trend browsing easier.

More convenient anyway on the phone, I think. Bookmarking multiple websites on Safari or whatever browser your use for small mobile can be clunky to use.
