experienced zbrush and or maya users.

Hi i was wondering if there were any experienced maya and or zbrush users who would be willing to add me on skype and sit with me, through a screen linked call, and guide me a little through zbrush and making them work together. i have tried learning on my own and i have problems keeping at something when stuff goes sour without someone to run to for advice.

you don't have to be a master at these programs or anything just decent enough to know how to use most of the vital tools in these programs. my real struggle is actually with zbrush and it's running me up the wall.

I can work around what ever free time you have because this weekend i don't have any work or commitments to deal with. my timezone is GMT+10 but i don't mind being at at 2-3am in the morning to get help.

first of all; What exactly do you need help with? Is it a thorough tutorial that you require or is it just a one thing.

To work with both, you would want to start in Zbrush, then decimate and save the objects as .obj to import them into Maya to Retopo the mesh and unwrap.

You can use PC wiki, go to Technical Support section and ask them questions, or join PC members on Google Hangout to watch them work between programs, though they may get irritated if you are asking for a good introduction to Maya and Zbrush's fundamentals.

EDIT: Also, if you are looking for Maya and Zbrush fundamentals do look in to such websites as:

uh mostly just actually texturing and sculpting in zbrush. mostly i just need tips and another pair of eyes to help me see things that i need to look for. following tutorials are great and you can learn heaps from them but so far from my experience through school i have noticed it's easier and faster for me to learn when i have access to someone to talk to quickly rather then posting and getting a reply 30+ mins later.

currently i am working on the monthly noob challenge and building concrete walls and floor greats. im just not really sure how to go about it at the moment.

oh also i am looking at getting a subscription to digital tutors but wont do so until closer to the Christmas break.

I don't use Google+ what's the go with joining it?

I'd be interested in joining you guys in a hangout... getting more into ZBrush and would be nice to chat to people about it.

well if we can make a place where we can all go for this it would be great. people can teach others and then we can keep teaching everyone else and you could get ranked on your skill in certain areas as well as how good you are at teaching others tricks you have picked up. would be nice to have something like that around.

oh and i don't just mean a place to put down tutorials either because there are plenty of those. i mean a place where people can host their own lessons for others so they can follow along and ask questions on the go. would be really awesome. my granddad always told me you learn nothing from just watching others so you have to keep asking "why?" till you understand everything and not just the exact things he has done.

OK seriously I have no idea why I said "join us at the Hangout," and missed the fine print stating that you are looking for fundamentals. Trust me I know people do get irritated if you ask them more than 2 questions. But I hope it works differently for you.

I have work so I barely give time to anything including the Google Hangouts or I'd love to show you the quick intro to Maya and Zbrush.

Its a sticky thread in General Discussion Section, if you are interested.

Nitewalkr im well aware there are people that get annoyed when asking more then 1 or two questions but i have noticed you get different types of responses depending on how the person feels. there is a difference in asking why because you can and because you want to know more. and when the person you ask actually feels like you want to know more and you are listening to every word they say they don't mind as much rather then asking why because you can and that tends to irritate them quickly because they feel like they are wasting time on explaining stuff you don't seem to care about.
