Hi there,

This isn't something I'm working with right now, but something I'd like to know for general knowledge and because I'd love to know how its done.

In games such as Metal Gear Rising: Revengence & Mortal Kombat, characters are ripped and sliced open and always have an inner part of their model that appears whenever enemies are cut. This is especially apparent in Metal Gear Rising: Revengince since you're cutting people into pieces left and right. Everything cuts perfectly and isn't empty on the inside. As a 3D modeler who uses Autodesk Maya, I'm very curious on how this is done and what this method is called.
