So you know when your if full screen top down or side mode, and then you move the camera around your model to check it out. But the it throws you into orthographic mode instead of perspective mode so you gotta press p every time you accidentally move the camera?..
Is there any way to make perspective the default view when you move the camera in a view like top down?

Using the View Cube will drop you into perspective view when changing views.
Or making a MaxScript which catches the Callback and puts you into perspective view.
I've been handing this a little different for a very long time and its a little closer to how Maya handles it, sort of. Instead of working in one viewport and switching it I have a 3 panel layout, Top, Left and Pers that I maximize and switch between. I bound "Maximize viewport toggle" to the spacebar. Need to switch to top view, hit space click the panel and hit space again (in maya your mouse just needs to be over the panel).
