Hi Polycount! I am currently working on a Caribbean port town set roughly during the 18th century. At this point I have finished all my modelling for the time being and I'm in the process of light mapping and Uving. Later down the line I will be adding effects to make the town look like its been attacked such as fire and rubble here and there but for now this is what I've got. Any feedback or crits at this point would be much appreciated. What are your views on the overall look? Is there anything you might add? Mainly focus on a modeling and construction standpoint.
well its quite hard to tell about your look yet, with only grey material.
but it seems you got some shading problems on your geometry. might be because of smoothed faces were you would want o have hard edges.
inside what application are you modeling your assets?
I´m looking forward to see that project develope!

Thanks for the comment. I model in maya and assemble in UDK. The werid shading is due to most models not having a second UV channel with a light map for light baking just yet. At this stage I am still making lightmaps for each model that will hopefully resolve this allowing shadows to cast correctly.
You seem to have lots of normal problems going on with your meshes right now. So to get em look flat and easier to look at maybe you should make sure your smoothing groups are alright or your soft/hard edges if you use maya.
