Hi all. I checked with Sean VanGorder about posting his here, and he was cool with it so here goes!
I just released 16 hours of UDK tutorials on my site -
http://www.hourences.com/released-four-high-end-udk-tutorial-videos/
I am aware it is late into this generation/engine cycle, but for one I did not want to let all the knowledge that Ive gained working with UE3 for so many years, to get lost. I wanted to store it somehow, and make sure that other people are able to make use of it as well, as I am moving on. For example for mobile development in particular, a lot of the knowledge required to pull off a mobile Unreal Engine 3 game simply cannot be found anywhere. I learned everything by doing, and want to share that with everyone now. Late into the cycle also means that I have more knowledge to share, more examples to show.
Features
- Each video is around 4 hours long, and universal (MP4, standard codec, fit for all computers/mobile devices).
- In-depth, very detailed and thorough.
- I do not just explain how to do things, I also show how they were applied in real life examples: The Ball, Unmechanical, and Rekoil.
- Everything I learned from working in UE3 for six years, and having worked on/for 11 Unreal Engine 3/UDK commercial games/clients.
- I am supporting standard European bank payments for people in the EU, as well as international credit card payments.
- And last but not least, unique to my videos are the Assignments and Certificates!
Included in every video is an assignment. These all new assignment levels or models are based on what was explained in the video, and are meant for you to demonstrate what youve learned in the video.
Upon completion of the assignment, you can send it back to me and I will verify that youve done everything correctly. If all was done correctly, I will issue you a Certificate of Completion, as proof that in my opinion, youve shown sound understanding of this subject in UDK.

I Salute you good sir!
Groet!
Awe.some! This is great man...definitly going to purchase when I rake up a few bucks. Thanks for putting all this together :-)
Yeah absolutely remember you Rog We should chat up again some time. Do you got Skype? Mine is "Hourences". If anyone else wants to chat with me feel free to add me as well.
Praetus, the Eat3D one is more about setting up the gameplay through Kismet, and an introduction to how to make your first mobile materials and such. This one I made now is much more in-depth on all content creation related topics, but does not cover Kismet. Basically the Eat3D one gets you started, but if you are serious about getting things to look good, run well, and be technically correct you need this one.
There was a problem with some people in the US being blocked by Paypal that has since been fixed. If anyone had this problem, it should now work.
I purchased your vids last week. I'm really satisfied so far, already learned some things I never knew but are pretty important to know. Already had several moments that I thought 'ah so thats why that didnt work out well' etc.
So far I did encounter 1 small issue however in one of your videos included in UDK Asset Development - Part 1:
The video about lightmapping (TheExpertClasses_UDKAssetDevelopment_Part1_Chapter4_Lightmapping.mp4) suddenly turns black at 18:48 and remains black a few minutes until 23:24. You do keep on talking however. It's not really an issue for me and I think most people are able to follow you just fine (its the part about inverted faces in the UV in combination with lightmapping), but its perhaps something you might want to fix. I dont think its related to just my video or my hardware, it occurred on different systems.
Anyway, not too big an issue. I'm really content so far, Im sure many things will prove use full for me in the future. Even outside UDK.
Regards!
