Hopefully someone can answer my questions or point me in the direction of another thread.
With high poly models, does it matter what your topology is if the surface is flat? As long as it looks ok then it shouldn't be an issue? Or will it affect the bake?
For example in the shots below you can see that there is no real difference in the top circles, even though I have used a few different methods for cutting up the circle.
The poly count is not really relevant but I just wanted to see the differences.

As for the edges, this was just a test model for getting two different shapes in one continuous model; the hexagon and the circle. GeoPoly is a pretty nice tool!
