Modeling a pirate ship

Hello guys i am working on the final peice of my portfolio it will be a pirate ship, i was wondering is there were or any model references or tutorials anyone could share that would be able to help me with my workflow, this is especially needed when it comes to modeling the back and the front of the ship

You dont need a pirate ship as reference. Pirate ships are just modified normal tradingships. So just pick the reference of some tradingships. Put some cannons on them and make them look more "evil" by adding flags, signs, damaged parts.
