here some Zbrush screenshots for iron man suit,70% of the model built inside zbrush, the head and Hands was built in max ,for the body i made a rough base mesh inside max .then imported it to zbrush for retopology and extracting besides some sculpting
hi david ,
vray was the render engine that i used ,
for car paints i used shellac material ,for the lighting i used HDR light studio to make studio hdri map + 1 direct light to get nice shadows + 1 vray light plane with a gradient effect
then all you have to do is playing with your passes to get the best result
here is my passes and the blending mode that i used in After effects
vray diffuse pass blending mode :normal
vray RAW GI blending mode : Overlay
Vray Raw Total lighting blending mode :Soft Light
Vray reflection blending mode : ADD
Vray specular blending mode :ADD
Vray Raw Refraction blending mode : ADD
Vray Raw Shadow blending mode : Multiply
