Yo! Thought I'd might make this tiny new thread to showcase my new main image for this environment in UDK. Would love to hear any feedback on it because I am very curious ^^
Biggest thing I see wrong is the lighting. Which direction is the sun in? The way the light is coming though the windows is off, since it seems to be the same intensity but at different angles from the multiple windows.
In this photo the sun has a clear directionality, and notice how the windows are lit differently depending on which side of the cathedral they are on.
The top of the cathedral is oddly brighter than the bottom of the cathedral, even though the light seems to be coming down from the main window and not up . Another thing is the color of the lighting, the top seems to be light coming through regular or blueish windows, while the bottom is clearly being tinted red from the main window. Lastly, while minor if you had variation in the window in colors of light coming through, it would help sell it as stained glass mosaics found on cathedral windows like in the picture I posted.
I saw this in WAYWO and I was wondering if you had any reference you were working from. To my, admittedly lay, eyes, it looks more completely made up than Gothic, but I'm eager to be proven wrong.
Thanks for the feedback! Its true I am no expert as well. I am merely doing my best to imitate an architecture while making things in a more fun, personal style. If that makes any sense. If it detracts from the overall quality though, then I suppose more re-iterating needs to be done...

Keep at it
