Maya - camera action help?

I am at a loss. I've been using maya 2014 for a while now, and up until today, whenever I select something, it won't highlight until I navigate the viewport (alt-mouse commands). I even bothered saving, the title bar doesn't budge, and it won't even let me close out without the help of Windows task manager. What twisted key combo did I press?

It can lag if you have a monster long history. Maybe to much on screen or your virus scanner is running in the background?

I just don't think there is a key command that auto crashes
