Hey guys, we decided to give the workshop a go a couple of days back, we are waiting for clients feedback often enough so we might use the time differently - besides doing things for Airborn itself, maybe this could help partially finance it in the long run. We will see
So far we created 3 assets which you can already find in the workshop

the first one, the bloodshard is a revamped version of an old sword made fit to the skeletonking, just so we can test the whole workflow, how the masks work (it still needs some work tho, the spec on the blade is currently overruled by its glow, i'll see what i can do about that.
the second one is also an item i did back in the end of 2012, but other stuff came in between so i could not finish by now. Our intern Max helped me do the final version for ingame, pyre a sword for doom.
and the latest Aries, the Peacebringer for the Omniknight
we really need to balance the details better for the ingame view - which is also helpfull for our current production, so its a good thing to keep stuff moving and getting better at this viewing distance.
we have a few more things in the pipe, our concepters working on some sets right now and a couple of more weapons will come once we have the time.
cheers

but it would be really great to have a couple of things in.
technical breakdown, yeah we've been asked to do some tutorials, wem might capture some videos to illustrate the workflow.
The more upvotes your item has the more probable it is Valve will put it in game. Quality is more important than votes though and a high amount of upvotes doesn't mean it will be put in. In the end it's pretty much entirely up to Valve what they put on the store.
About game readability of items please double check if your normal direction aren't flipped. Files provided in technical requirements page have normals red-right/green-up however normals imported into dota2 should be red-right/green-down, so there is a flip on green channel (settings straight from 3dsmax should go into dota). You probably did this correct, however I thought that maybe you missed this info by chance.
Anyway good luck with workshop. Its nice to see more and more high quality stuff here. I hope to see soon some uber set items!!
that would be cool!
Also just noticed the Half-Life Lambda on the OmniKnight Hammer! Nice easteregg
@Konras: the normals are correct, we work with so many different engines, thats the first thing to test ^^
@e-freak: hehe yeah

These vicious twin throwing axes were crafted for the Beastmaster by a hermit blacksmith, exiled to the desolate Northern Wastes of Slom by the Last King. Korroch asked that spikes be set into each blade, so that the axes might strike his enemies like the fangs of a wild beast. It is thus that these weapons earned their name from those who fear the Beastmaster’s wrath: the Fangs of the Savage.

This extrordinary axe was forged by a drunken oxemean forgemaster who's mind had crossed the edge to insanity ages ago. He fused the earth, rock and metal of the drylands of Oxeme into this odd shape. At first it caused plenty of sneering and mockery when Bradwarden the Warrunner first wielded the axe on the battlefield. That is until his enemies saw him chopping his first opponent's both arms in one strike. From that day only terror shows in the faces of those who stand in the way of the Twins of Rok.
only a few more single items, then the sets and couriers will come

It's just the bigger res, huh. I should do that too.
our first courier is now in the workshop
Dog of Duty by Airborn Studios
Waldi the Faithful
Orphaned and abandoned on the fringes of the Nightsilver Woods, Waldi was rescued by a reclusive band of rangers and trained in the ways of war. Waldi is often underestimated by his foes, but his unassuming appearance belies his relentless tenacity and unfailing loyalty. He is a worthy courier and companion for the mightiest of warriors, a true dog of duty.
also
Laments of the Dead by Airborn Studios and Ken
- BoBo
He just renders at a super high res then downsize it to get the sharp crisp look.
i don't do classical CA as it tends to get very strong around the outer borders of the image for obvious reasons.
