The first thing I noticed was that you're missing a pair of legs. Insect animation is generally straight forward - move two legs on one side and one leg on the other, then switch, always keeping 3 legs on the ground at all times. Spiders are much more complex, and interesting, generally using the front pair to probe and the rear pair as the primary motivators, and generally moving in opposing pairs.

Spiders also only have two body segments - the cephalothorax and the abdomen.

I can't really tell what the material is - a mottled plastic? I'd probably go with the old stand-bys - either a shiny metal or a blued metal (such as the barrel of most guns).

You should look into providing more robotic details - the head especially is rather plain. Eight eyes should give you plenty to play with - whether they are all small or if there are two large eyes. The mouth, pedilaps, and spinnerettes can also show robotic details.

You really need to consider the purpose of the spider. Is it a small robotic spy? A maneuverable beast of burden? A security robot? Or something else entirely? Function can really help you define the form.
