Figure is time to try to level up and going to share my progress here. trying out different workflow, is a bit scatter atm. Have a lot of WIP in different stages. The engines is for practicing highpoly/sub d with keyshots render. Some creature sculpts while watching the nba finals
hahaha. messed with this while waiting for renders...it had a JJ's flare at one point....
thx thx. going to be adding when here and there. trying to force myself to keep this going for as long as i can for practice.
...3d printable lightsaber. This is for the 3dtrader contest and other. untextured, messing with multi-mat in keyshot. will textured it later with more wear and tear
another sets of helmets/head. Forgot the mention the theme, it is suppose to be a mix of space/under water helmet mix with bonish element. Block out the shapes while watching the pacers spank the heat on game 6
will take each one to more complete. this is my break getting away from the tedious aspect of 3d
Thanks Chris! Missile silo door kitbash from the Engines's gut pieces. Hoping to get a few more kitbash for the scene. Going to bring this in to zbrush for some wear and tear
Great work, man! That hard surface stuff looks awesome. I think if the sculpts had some more sharp edges that would also put them over the top. I can't wait to see what you do with all this.
@Quack and Bardler- Keyshot is easy to learn, fast to render. Havent got too deep with it, but really impressive so far. Highly recommend it. Keyshot for highpoly and Marmoset for low. that is really all I need for personal.
Thanks Paul-about 10 days, majority of the time is spend building the modular/lego pieces
Thanks for the crits Hai. always appreciate any 2 cents you are willing to throw down. Will take another pass on those previous sculpt. Try to apply it on the piece below. Herman mention some more sci fi stuff, so try out a more spacey looking one.
holy crap....That hard-surface modeling! so clean, but yet so detailed! mind sharing some wireframe?
Hahahha E3 sure is inspiring! This year E3 really did its best.
Doing a pratice run on unreal. The static meshes and textures belong to epic I only tweak the shaders to unify the colors. The goal was to practice/learn how to set up everything in unreal from scratch, seem more reasonable while watching tuturials on it. Mainly focusing on world building aspect of Unreal. It also give me some insight on how they construct their modular stuff.
could still use a mesh painting pass for sands build up and decals.
This is the real deal, going to build everything from ground up unlike the previous post. Going to try to mesh paint everything so I can get that really lived in feel. See how far I can push this one.

Keyshot sucks doesn't it?
great creature sculpts as well
its good to have a good grasp on hard surface as well as organic shapes and looks like your on the right track!

Game 7 fine detail pass and messing with some renders

Two of the guys I work with swear by Key Shot. They can make google sketch up models look insanely good in no time at all.
