Some how I started coming with ideas for this teenager named Zeak. He's out on a journey for the Voynich Manuscript. Before he left for the journey he threw on whatever he could find to wear in his basement. So far I have him outfitted with a TMNT backpack, Barney Slippers and an orange vest.
For the basemesh I still have to add a shirt, ears, hair, a sony walkman, a bee bee gun, hands of course and some other interesting accessories. I'll then sculpt in Zbrush.
Started to do a rough pass at the upper half of Zeak in Zbrush. I installed GOZ and used it for the first time which is cool. I am only like subdivision one or two for now till I get the rest of his base. Then I will detail. Also he is rocking a mullet. :poly142:
About done with all of Zeaks items and the basemesh. Now I can really start on the highpoly in Zbrush. If I have enough time/ tris after the low poly I may make a bike for him to ride.
Thank you! Been working on the bike today. Still some more things I would like to add.
I have a question that I would greatly appreciate some help with.
When I make the bike low poly, how should I handle the spokes on the wheel? Do I retopoologize each spoke or can I use a double sided plane and bake the spokes onto it? How do people handle complex objects and making them low poly?
And of course what kid can't go without his handy Etch a Sketch that is custom mounted onto his bike. He's sketched out a plan to capture the Voynich Manuscript on it. Also it acts as a primative navigational device and a place where he can draw boobies if hes bored.
Thanks for that. I have used normal maps before and bake with XNormal. I was wondering how I would make the bike spokes low ploy. Can those be baked onto a plane? How does one handle complex, multiple objects? Thanks.

I did the low poly for Zeaks head and baked a mid res of the high poly just to test. Looks pretty decent I would say so far.
