Hello Polycount, I am a beginner 3d artist, and I am looking for character, props and enviroment concept art to work with. I googled for concept art, and found tons of it, but usualy it's copyrighted. and I don't think I could use it, even if it's for my personal traning, and starting to fill my portfolio. any suggestions?

I dont think an artist will take offence to building one of their concepts as long as you give credit to them.
No harm in building from concepts if its just for training/learning
Huge download of concepts

and many more places around the web and on these forums.
- You're using it STRICTLY for educational purposes and not making money directly from it.
- You're transferring the concept to another medium. It's like when a photographer reproduces a famous painting by setting up a physical scene and photographing it.
If you're going to put any of the work into your portfolio, it's always a good idea to credit the concept artist. You may also want to go the extra mile and try to contact the artist, explain the project, how it will be used, and get their permission beforehand.have a nice day
