[Mixamo Contest] - ramenhouse - Maria (WIP)

hello there everyone!! i decided to join this great contest
so i can develope my skill in 3d and hear from fellow contestants
heres my sketch of Maria



Description (still WIP though)
setting:19th century

Maria comes from a wealthy family from the Southeast Asia.
Her father, the owner of a large estate in the country suddenly got ill. doctors from around the world couldn't figure out the reason of his illness, then one day a witch doctor told her that her father have been witchcraft and the only thing that could help her father is to find the Voynich Manuscript.

I'm gonna make her stylized making it more of kinda street fighter IV -ish
heres my WIP on the base mesh, still a lot of work to do!

Nice model! Keep at it, I think she has a great back story and a lot of potential, can't wait to see more Maria!

little update on my dear Maria




did a little sculpt for the head. still very rough though, maybe 20% done.
a lot more to do! will try to finish it on the weekend

heres my update from yesterday. revised a lot and add some details from last time.
critics and comments are very much appreciated

The features on her face from jaw to temple/eye socket to chin, are slightly low on the skull. If you raise them a little she'd appear more human. Now she is looking a little navi/alien.

I'm not really that good about anatomy but I think this can help.



Yeah what the above poster said is right. Just move her face around a bit until it looks more "right". (If I understand Stiffler's post correctly )

The ear is also a bit off. I think the bottom of the ear lines up with the bottom of the nose. Kinda like here

thanks for the tips guys! gonna work that out. for now im gonna finalize the design and story for her. im getting second thought when i began creating the costumes. doesnt feel right . hehe ill post next week with the tips you gave me!

I think you got the major forms down, just the nose and eyes look off. Gather as much reference as you can (of other female sculpts) and try to copy those elements, then it should look a lot better. Keep it up!

hello guys!
its been a while since my last update,
I've been tweaking the face for awhile now and i think its improve since my last post. thanks to all those guys who helped me out. still need to tweak it a little bit more after i finish the hair. still a lot to do hope i finish it on time.






here i started sculpting the pants. [still in progress] i just want to make it look a bit complete hehe.

love the concept. hair looks nice. the pants look different from the concept in the first post though. i like the original pants over the sculpted ones. Her eyes look a bit large also.

i got some feedback from my friends at work
so i revise the pants and her proportions to stick with the original concept,

still a long way to go i really hope i can finish it on time

I like her cute face and pigtails, at first picture she had not so evil-face expression), keep on good sculpt! )

P.S I mean she looked better when she was kind at first concepts..

thanks KatArt! yeah i like the first concept too haha, Im gonna edit her face last just need to make all her outfit first,

95% done! the pattern on her tops and some equipments for her adventures are left then i'll proceed to retopo
