can you figure out how exactly test your model with alpha , because i tried to watch common heroes models in Alie Swarm viewer and there are no transparency options , even if there is "alphatest 1" in vmt file
just import them in dota and don´t complete the submission process.
it is predefined in the heroshader if they use the alpha channel for transparency, some heros do use alpha for transparency some don´t.
if their default items have some transparency on them, like death prophets, it is safe to assume the shader uses the diffuse alpha channel for transparency.

anyways started texturing
early on i had some worries how all the blocky shapes would transfer to the lp, but it all worked out realy good, handplane normals are the shit btw.
anyways nearly done with the set only the weapon, skinning and final masktweaking in engine left to do.
what i personally learned is that handplane is super awesome and always use SMD^^

@snowstorm yes it is sort of but i cheated; its tesselated with a high-rez displacement map.
@vayne thanks, i did the large ropse in zrbush with the curve tubes brush. the smaller strings and knots i did with the clay brush.
