Wooden door - Need feedback plz

i am not sure if this is how i want it to be. I feel i need to work on it more. So please guide me through this as i am a beginner here and show me which areas i need to improve in the door. Never mind the wall.

i used ndo for creating the normal map and AO then used ddo for texturing.

The horizontal wood ornaments looking weird. I mean the ornament frames are really flat and then you insert cheap wood? Glas windows, okay! Detailed Wood Ornaments yay! But this? You have a solid wood door. You saw holes in the wood, make frmaes and then you use cheap wood planks with nails?

Hey Abdullah, first of all, nice texture work especially for a beginner! A few things that stand out to me:

    > There aren't any seams in your wood surrounds that are around the planks. I would expect there to be a joint in each corner where the different wood planks meet.

    > I think a little colour variation would help in the texture, you could make either the planks or the surrounds a painted wood with some paint chipped away.

    > I'm guessing the green marks are moss on the wood. This would generally happen nearer the bottom of the wood since its due to the wood being wet for long periods.

The wood texture seems noisy, and I'm going to blame putting the grain into the normal map. Unless wood is very weathered, it is fairly smooth, with only a subtle displacement caused by the grain. This is especially true for painted wood; the paint tends to smooth out the displacement even more.

The paint color itself is an odd choice; light brown just isn't that common. White and dark brown are far more common, and even brighter choices like red or green are more common. Also, the weathering on the paint is very uniform; I'd expect more wear near moving parts - the edges of the door and the frame, especially near the bottom of the door. Subtle streaks from the nails wouldn't be out of the question, either.

Okay, i bumped the normal map a bit reduced the density of small details and reworked the diffuse. i know there isnt much of detail on the object but i wanna get the right material feeling of a wooden door. Hope i am heading the right way at least :)

    Sweet! :)

I would suggest to put some geometry on the main frames. As good as nDo2 is, the bevel on the edges of the main frames are looking too fake :) I can see that its a door that is gonna be close to the viewer because the of the way that one door is open, so don't be afraid to put some bevels and details on it :)
