2nd Monitor --> performance?

Hi.

I´ve plugged my TV (26" Samsung) into my computer and I love it. Finally something for reference pics and UI stuff.

My question is, does this cost system resouces? I mean, the PC needs to calculate another 1920 x 1080. Will I notice performance differences when using the second monitor?

Let´s say I´m running an engine or even a game. The second monitor will steal performance/frames, right?

Yes, but unless you're running another game/video etc. on the second screen as well, the performance loss is most of the time unnoticeable.

Yeah, finally putting all the Max-windows to the left + ref pic. I love it, too.
I once had a studio job and worked with 2 Monitors for the first time and it was awesome. Finally, today, 2 monitors on my private desk!

you really cant go back from two monitors, how you can use reference, have a video going in the side, be it tutorial or just a show to watch and work in your main screen is invaluable.

Also how can you make a shader in UDK while viewing your scene and a reference image while watching a video on netflix, on one monitor?
