Hi all 3D artists,
Im producing a game prototype. I was shocked when getting quotations of 3D artwork and started to wonder if its possible to create prototype versions of 3D models at a lower cost?
I believe most artists start from a low-polygon base model and then move to a high poly sub division for the bake/normal, spec, e.t.c.
So I was thinking, what about using the low-polygon base model as a prototype model for a prototype game?
Is this something 3D artists would be interested in doing or is it a no chance?

EDIT: Dustin nailed it. It may cost a little more in the long run but it's totally worth it.
