I'm working on some designs for alien vegetation, to integrate in a dense junglemap.
It's a low-light setting, with emphasis on self-illumination. I'm trying to work with some elements of fossils and sealife to get away from the standard vegetation-concept (trunk/leaves).
So far they're separate, but when i gather some more designs, I'll put them together for a better overview.
P.S.: The businessdudes are not part of the vegetation. That would just be creepy.
I'd love to know what you guys think!

One piece of advice I may be able to offer, is that you're using a lot of semi-transparent glowing surfaces. I would try to limit these to less common elements of the scene, as otherwise the in-game content would generate a lot of layers of alpha, which will negatively impact performance, particularly if it has to be sorted.
I was gonna go nuts with alpha on a next design, but it's not required to make it look good. I guess it's possible to integrate a feeling of alpha in a fully opaque diffuse map, just by combining hard, dark textures with soft, fleshy ones.
Really can't wait to see you start getting stuff together...I'm super excited about this

It's been a very VERY long time since I've updated this.
