Looks cool man, I feel like the crotch area should have some kind of detail? I dunno it just looks a bit weird all blank and stuff. Might look better after the bake/texturing though.
The costume elements are amazing (especially the shoes). I love Laika. My crit would be that she looks a little masculine, her torso specifically. It might be anatomically accurate, but the shoulders, arms and hands appear male. Shrink her hands and narrow her shoulders a little. Maybe even decrease the size of her ribs. In her face her jaw is a little square. Soften the curve under her ear. Women in reality have these angles, but 'the ideal' feminine is a little softer and rounder. I got over these problems myself with some good face reference. You don't have to exactly model scarlett johansen, but get lots of pics of a woman you find really attractive and study what it is about her face that you like. Its very subtle. I hope this is helpful......keep up the quality work.
Yesss, reppin' Creature! Looking good, although I'm sure it would look better if you changed the size of the hips and shoulders accordingly, girls tend to have broader hips than shoulders.
The changes you've made to her proportions have all helped to feminize her. She's attractive but still has an 'edge' to her look. Maybe smaller feet proportionally (?) but that kinda a stylized thing, so it could be your design choice. What you have might be anatomically accurate but hands and feet just read weird in 3D. (the men in Dishonored have massive hands, but works for their design style).
Nicely done, now its look much better than previous one. I like the "Nike" shoe although the dress is not quite good. Apart from this the clothes in your reference are much better than this.
@karyLRowling im going to put more love on the clothes. @Stiffler@absorbentghost i'm still working on sizes face, hands...
thanks so much for the comments:)
Hey there! Quick reminder that you still need to fully register to the contest so that we may provide you with free access to Mixamo's Auto-Rigger and Motions Collection. (You will need to take a few minutes to Auto-Rig and animate your character before submitting your entry.)
Here's how to register: Simply send an email to contest@mixamo.com and provide the following info:
Name: Your First and Last Name Login: Your Mixamo login or associated email address Source: Where you heard about this contest Tools: 3D software you will use to model your character Polycount WIP Thread: Your email must include the URL to your work-in-progress thread on Polycount so we can follow your progress
That's it!
We'll then provide you with free Auto-Rigging and animating on Mixamo and send you a confirmation. Thanks!
By the way, great details on her face. Only thing that seems off to me is the way her pants fit her waist. It almost seems like there's no "collision" if that makes any sense. It seems like if the laws of gravity suddenly applied to the render, her pants would smoothly slide off her waist and fall on her ankles! Maybe suggesting a tighter waistband and a little bulge on the skin where it meets the top of the pants would help? Just a thought.
It's looking great! Good spec on the skin. I might add more color variation on the lips.... Do you get what Anais meant about the pants? I see it too. The waist band of sweatpants looks like a scrunchy. Also in the crouch, there are wrinkles from the fabric being pulled by the hips. Its shows up a little in your hi-res model, but not the retopo. Aside from little wrinkle stuff she's looking great all around. All the material properties look amazing(sweats, shoes, skin). What are you rendering with?
Thanks @Stiffler i'm using marmoset 1.10. I want to pose the character to see if the tracksuit pants work in the way they are right now. I've tried to put a elastic band on the waist but i didn't like it.
this is looking sweet, I think you missed some details on the pants though. those type of pants usually have sweat marks on them, and they are kind of see through, so you should probably see her panties under there very diffusely.
Dude, that's really cool. What a triumph to see her come to life, eh?
How did you go about getting her in? What does one need to do? Sketchfab has a really cool way of showing models, but the animation on yours is just such a plus.
Thanks MonteCristo in going to try to explain the process.
You have to:
-upload your character to mixamo and rig it.
-Find the motion you like.
-download it in the format that fit you best depending in the 3d software you use http://www.mixamo.com/c/workflows.
-Open the file you downloaded from mixamo (.dae,fbx...) I'm using 3DMAX and auto biped. in this step you will attach the props to your character (i know that your character is wearing a rifle) and fix the things you don't like (weights, positions...)
-once you are happy with it export it in fbx.
-next step unity(trial version works fine).
