Decimation master stopping at 65k

so I'm making an asset and I'm trying to decimate it down to like 1k or so, and it for some reason stops reducing at 65k, I've tried to re process it and make a clone etc, but it won't go below 65k.. any ideas? any help would be much appreciated!:poly124:

Can't help you with your problem, but if all else fails you could download Meshlab and decimate it with that instead.

Split your mesh and decimate each part separately ?

Just a clone, or a full fledged Makepolymesh3D? Have you deleted the cache? Are you changing the actual amount its looking to decimate by? Have you tried using one slider (%) vs another (point count)? Are you using any options that might hinder its ability to decimate (UVs and polypaint weighting?). Have you tried making a very slight adjustment to the new mesh before redecimating?
