good idea, you need to remember to make him look like an adventurer ,that looks like he is on a quest to find something because this is what this whole contest is about
good luck
Today I created the base hand for zbrush. In the next steps I will export my rough sculpt and put cloth (t-shirt, west, trousers and boots) on the Base mesh. In the later steps I resculpt the head. This mesh is just in place for cloth and items the character will wear.
Just a quick reminder that the deadline for your submission has been extended: you have until tonight (Monday July 8, 11:59:59 pm PST) to email us your entry.

Today I finished my base mesh 4 zbrush. Next step is to add some details for example the jeans, boots and stuff
Maybe sculpt a bit first and then start to add details...let´s see
here I prepaired the mesh for zbrush. Figured out what areas are visible and which parts needs some detail.
A rough sculpting to know where the muscles are. visible parts will become more detail.
Dear viewer if you have some hints or suggestions please feel free to contact me or post in here. This is my first character.
Cheers
good luck
The cowboy char should looke like a thief who´s searching a treasure. maybe I will add a bag with supplies (cans, pans etc.)

Today I will start to model his items. He will carry a rope, a small bag, a shovel on his back and a small pickaxe.
I will reshape the character in zbrush because I think his torso is a bit too heavy.
I reshaped the head and the torso a bit to make sure the char fits to the style.
As well I started to sculpt a decent stetson hat.
stitch detail shot
Thanks TyC!
The image shows up some progress. What do you guys think are the wrinkles on the t-shirt too subtile?
Later I will define the surface details of the t-shirt and step over to the vest.
Thank you all for the comments!
Soo here are the clothes. The buttons are still placeholder. Fixed some issues on the shirt and started with the leather sling.
The time is running fast so I hope I could manage to finish the character in time:\
There are also some nice details.
I am a bit afraid of the head schulpting so first I will finish all the "small stuff". Guess the head is extremely difficult for me.
Tomorrow I will add some nice details:poly136:
I added final details and sharper wrinkles
quick update
Finished the shoes and some small stuff (bag and shovel holder). Now the head is left.
I will delete the extra joint in the thump sculpt :poly136:
small update:poly136:
Here is the characters head with some low poly hair. I started to retopo the head.
plaing around with some sculpt renders
