Thanks darkscythe. Maybe the bad guy... Fantastic animated film!
Here is a paintover of the base and some exploration with the height of the character.
I think I'm going with 9 heads (let me know what you think), since I want some anime style in my character. Also reminds me of Jubei from Ninja Scroll, an old time favorite of mine.
Now it's prop time design and then back to scultp.
I´m almost done with the head. The hair and mustache are provisional.
I think I'm going to put this guy in the context of a cave, so I´ll give him proper props.
So far I have a lamp in his torso belt. Reminds me of the cops in "The Fifth Element".
Here is more progress. Basically I just have to "animate" the character.
I had some difficulties with Blender importing the AutoRig, so I had to switch to Maya.
Thanks chudork. As the project was progressing I realize that I wanted something less cartoony just to change direction from a couple of my latest projects.

Here is my character BIO. Hopefully I can post some sketches and references this weekend.
I think I'm going with N°3 as the base silhoutte.

... maybe the glasses are a bit big...
Also sculpted some details and applied the base color and materials.
Now it's time to texture this guy!
...still needs more props...
