As an LA native I know of a few bars near the convention center that people might be able to hang out at. Last year there was a gamedev meetup at the Golden Gopher. I am down to hang with some fellow Polycounters.
So I'm in the process of getting my tickets to fly in for E3, does anyone have a solid date for the meetup? I was thinking of flying back on the last night of E3 so I could be back to work the next day but if the meetup is on the 13th then I'll just take an extra day off.
Well according to this thread we have at-least a few peeps interested. If we can get a local who knows a good spot to declare a location and time I'll be there, even if its just the few of us in this thread. :P
I'm heading over with the CCP crowd this year for my first ever E3! Beyond excited! Would really like to meet the polycount guys for some pints so if you can get something booked I'll be there for sure.
Logically it seems to me that the best day would be the 12th, since anyone arriving late or leaving early will for sure be there if they're going to E3. But thats just my two cents. Then again I don't know what other parties are going on during E3. But we still have a bit of time left to set a date.
Hopefully someone will be our hero soon and organize this. :P

When/where is the gamedev drink up? It isn't showing up for me for some reason. Also, does anyone know on how to get into the Saint's Row party on Wednesday?

E3 was epic!!!! Next year I'm going to get some sort of green tooth pin made and attach it to my E3 badge. If we all did it like that we'd get to feel like a part of a secret order or something. :P
I got trolled by my friends GPS on his iPhone for the game dev drink up though. He hit the "get directions" on the facebook event app instead of punching the address in manually and it took us 20 minutes in the opposite direction just before rush hour. Anyone who knows LA traffic knows... we didn't make it to the real place in time.
@artquest: I was thinking about printing out a small green tooth myself but I didn't know if that was going to be well received. I was wondering how PCers usually identify each other in person....
As someone who knows LA traffic I made sure to be there early and leave late. Too bad you couldn't make it to the drink-up, it was a good time.
