Hi everyone, here are some pictures of the weapon that I did. I'll start the lowpoly after some changes in the shape and wire and finally make a real-time asset probably rendered in UDK.
Can't wait to start texturing this stuff.
There is two version of the paint for this gun (like each district 9 weapons I think) so I will try to make the both at the same time with separate color and stuff.
color mask are wip, not matching totaly with the ref. I will fix that with 3D paint... not sure wich tool yet , maybe mari 2.0
well, about 18k. I admit it's maybe too much for the current games, but the concept was not really designed for video game I guess. Also I do not want to lose silhouette.
I have already removed some geometry and bake some part again but I really want to start texturing so..
Its a baked model, I guess my polycount is a bit high . I can reduce it a little but I dont want to affect silhouette.. I will try If I can save more then 1k or more.
So, I made some little change and try to make something with the maya viewport 2.0.
about the model;
done with maya (normal map rendering too), texturing in Mari 2.0 with some tweak in photoshop.
18k tri with 3*4k maps (normal, spec and diffuse).
Hope you like it. I am sure I could make a better texture for it but getting very bored about this art so I start an environment project for my "empty like the void of space" portfolio.

After duplicate symmetry parts and objects used twice or more, I get a little bit more poly than expected .
