Kismet - Force Float Value Change

So I'm trying to get a variable float value to change after a remote event fires. Specifically in this context, there is a monster "total number" per wave float multiplier that I want to change.

I have tried using a number of switches and conditions to no effect it seems. Right now it looks something like this [ Remote Event Wave Ended ----> Switch (5 difficulty based switch options) ---- > Set Float (Target ---> Named Float Variable) (Value ----> New Float Variable Value)

If that doesn't make sense let me know and I will try to get a screenshot up. Anyone have better advice about how to do this?
