Video capture setup / card recommendations?

Hey guys, been asked by a couple of friends to digitize some old camcorder footage we have of us working on cars and such from our teen years, and I'm wondering what kind of setups you use to capture vid-in footage on your pc's?
I'm running a win7 64 rig with plenty of hdd space and ram, and I'm just looking for something reasonably priced that can capture the footage with the least amount of mucking about with settings. I'd probably prefer going with something that's mounted to the mobo instead of a usb adapter, but if you've had good luck with the latter, I'd consider it.
